Faith in Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is at the center of our faith. We seek to know Him, follow Him, and live according to His teachings.
About
Faith in Jesus Christ. Guided by the Holy Spirit. Rooted in Scripture.
At Disciple Parish, we are a Christian community centered on Jesus Christ and committed to worshipping God, growing in faith, and living lives that honor Him.
As Celestians, our faith is expressed through prayer, worship, Scripture, holiness, service, thanksgiving, and a continual desire to follow the leading of the Spirit of the Lord.
Jesus Christ is at the center of our faith. We seek to know Him, follow Him, and live according to His teachings.
We seek the leading of the Spirit of the Lord in our worship, prayer, spiritual life, and daily walk with God.
Scripture provides an essential foundation for our faith and our understanding of Christian life and worship.
We are called to live lives that honor God through holiness, prayer, discipline, love, service, and Christian conduct.
Worship is at the heart of our life together. Through prayer, Scripture, music, preaching, thanksgiving, giving, and other expressions of devotion, we gather to honor God and seek His presence.
Prayer is part of the believer's ongoing relationship with God. Through prayer we give thanks, seek guidance, bring our concerns before God, and remain attentive to His presence.
Holiness involves more than what happens during worship. It is reflected in the choices we make and the way we conduct ourselves. To pursue holiness is to continually seek to live in a manner that honors God.
Christian conduct begins within. Love, peace, humility, sincerity, self-control, forgiveness, and faithfulness shape the way we respond to God and to other people.
A Christian life cannot be separated from the way we treat other people. Love, patience, forgiveness, compassion, honesty, and peace belong in our families, friendships, workplaces, and communities.
Faith extends beyond the Sanctuary. We seek to live our faith through prayer, fasting, thanksgiving, generosity, Christian conduct, service, and the way we treat others.
Remaining in communication with God.
Practicing spiritual discipline and seeking God.
Recognizing God's goodness and giving thanks.
Giving as an expression of worship and stewardship.
Allowing our faith to shape the way we live and treat others.
Using our time, abilities, and resources to serve God and people.
Christian stewardship includes how we use our resources, time, abilities, and opportunities. Giving is one expression of that stewardship, while generosity also appears through service, hospitality, compassion, and willingness to help others.
Christian life is not only about receiving from the Church. It is also about finding ways to serve God and serve others. Every person has something they can contribute through time, abilities, resources, encouragement, prayer, or practical service.
You do not need a title to serve.
What happens in worship should shape what happens afterward.
The reverence we bring into the Sanctuary should influence how we speak.
The prayers we offer should influence how we respond to difficulty.
The gratitude we express should influence how we see what we have.
The love we receive from God should influence how we treat others.
Being a Celestian is more than belonging to a congregation. It involves living a Christian life centered on faith in God, worship, prayer, holiness, service, and fellowship with other believers.
